[i=s] 本帖最后由 ararat-tempest 于 2015-10-29 21:46 编辑 It's goin' to be Halloween, so I played some Halloween games recently on NES/FC like Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Splatterhouse Wanpaku Graffiti, etc. I love all of them, they're truly awesome, though it's not so horror. Oh, if you hunt for some TRUE horror games on NES/FC, pick up an unlicensed light-gun shooting game called Chiller, it's even a little nasty for some people, 8-bit games never let you down. But this time, I wanna talk about something fantastic indeed, that is, SPLATTERHOUSE series.I damn love this logo, it reminds me of a logo of a great band, Mushroomhead, just check it.They really resemble each other.Well, I'm not so familiar with the new PS3/XBOX 360 title, but I beat the first four ones except the arcade and FM Towns version indeed.mmm, there are some history stories about this awesome, if you're interested in, please click this, everything you need is here.http://splatterhouse.wikia.com/wiki/Splatterhouse_Wikihttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SplatterhouseI'm going to review something for you.The first title I played is TurboGrafx/PCE version. It's a pity that I didn't own this game though I had a PCE in my childhood. (If I have, I may become a metalhead earlier I think...) I'm tough at beat 'em up games, so I didn't check this when I was working for other emulators. But when I saw some Youtube reviewers who I love to watch did some reviews (especially HVGN/SSFF's admin Derek Alexander), I though I was a nerd (yeah, I AM A NERD).You will know how awesome it is, there's even a comic-style flyer and inner case for the TurboGrafx version exclusively!It's brutal, cruel and gory for sure. Use your bat, iron stick and the most awesome weapon in the series, shotgun! Blow your enemies' heads!I prefer PCE version by the way, the mask is white instead of red color, it's like Jason from Friday the 13th but nope, the main hero of Splatterhouse name's Rick.This photo is Jason, both of them are strong and wearing a white mask. So, Splatterhouse is apparently a game made by horror movie fans for horror gamers.Yep, you should find your way to save your girlfriend. When you reach the room that your girlfriend kidnapped, you realize she turns into a monster. Then you fight for revenge now. Finally, the WTF monster is fxxked up by you, here's the end.The first two titles are nearly the same control and fighting style.Splatterhouse II is on Sega Genesis/Mega Drive only, thankfully it's a great game too.The biggest problem is actually, the difficulty, it's as hard as shxt. If you think the first one is tough, then this one will be the nightmare.The difficulty score for the first one I give would goes to 6.5/10, then the second would be 8/10.See that? Now you have a chainsaw as a new weapon, it surely helps you out. Cut up the monsters' flesh! Yeah~ Violent happy~Look at the fattie lol. No no no, I should be serious...Now you think this would be the end of the series with two beat 'em up? You'll be shocked by the third one, Splatterhouse III!Now Rick is more powerful with the help of his evil mask, you could transform into a strong warrior if you replenish your energy meter.The cut scenes are awesome too, you should definitely check them.And there's also a time limit. If you couldn't save your girlfriend and the boy within the time limit, you'll enter the bad end, but it's still the truth that you beat the game. Just a different ending screen and the real final battle with your mask, the true boss. The evil mask try to conquer the world too, so you have to fight him too.There're several rooms, just differentiate from the previous two titles, you needn't fight in every single room, and it's impossible.When you pause the game, check the map and get the shortest way to the boss is your only strategy to enter the good end.Do not lose your weapon this time, cuz your weapon would be steal by the ghost if you get hit once when you hold the weapon.The difficulty score for this one is 9/10, cuz there's time limit. You really need to beat more than one monster at the same time in order to save time.As for the Splatterhouse Wanpaku Graffiti on FC, it's just a spin-off of the series, nothing related to the original story line at all, but it's still fun to play, and it's not so difficult. And it's very cute. Some scenes just don't make any sense, cuz it's just a movie, nothing real, well, a bad movie lol.You're just an actor starring Rick along the way to fight for your girlfriend just like the three titles, and the final boss is Pumpkin King. This is truly about Halloween, isn't it?You're not alone this time, cuz you have your machete just like Jason! Of course there are shotguns, you could kill mutiple enemies on the screen just like a bomb! Am I playing a SHMUP game?Oh, how cute it is!Fight the monsters and get the EXP, you'll get a longer health meter.LMFAOFinally, what you should remember is, DON'T FORGET TO USE TURBO FIRE BUTTONS.If not, your fingers would hurt I'm fxxkin' serious.to be continued... [i=s] 本帖最后由 ararat-tempest 于 2015-10-29 20:36 编辑 This episode is English only, if you wanna know what's this about but you dunno English, plz use translator by yourself, DO NOT ASK FOR TRANSLATION.The emulator John GBC Lite is the best emulator of GameBoy Color as far as I know for your android phone. Technically, nearly over 95% of the whole GB and GBC library can be perfectly emulated by this great emulator. But there are still some problems. The main two big problems are the following ones, 1.D-pad dead zoneThis is a deadly problem, because of this, many retrogamer refuse to use this one. The dead zone is pretty big, you can't even use diagonal control conveniently. I try to play Operation C on this, but I could barely beat the first stage! that pretty sucks, cuz I can beat the first four stages without losing one single life on my BGB emulator for PC, it's a shame that such a good emulator has this problem, I suggest the programmer could fix this as soon as possible.2.eternal error when loading some homebrew romsThough it's a piece of cake, and nobody cares about PD rom I supposed, it's still a potential if the author could recognize this. When I choose a homebrew game called "Ant Hill", a mini run-n-chase puzzle action game which is similar to "Dig-Dug" style, it crashed after playing for a few minutes, even my Sony Xperia Z1 restarted immediately! I decide to give u three letters, my dear author, "WTF"!So, despite of these genres of games that need precise control, I have to play puzzle or RPG games. And considering of the time, I want games that could kill your little waiting time. Puzzle games are your best choice! 1st, Pac-Attack (or Pac-Panic) on GBCIf you love Tetris-like brick games, Pac-Attack is a must-have. You drop down several composed materials including bricks, ghosts and Pac-man. The bricks could be eliminated if it's in the horizontal line just like Tetris. The ghosts could be devoured by Pac-man if the Pac-man face to the ghosts just like what happens in the game "Pac-Man", which Pac-Man eats them by turning and going straight ahead. In puzzle mode, the given pattern need you think and place the materials in order to use Pac-man to eat all the ghosts. Though Mike Matei of Cinemassacre don't really like this game, I still think this is a fun game. (His favorite Pac-Man games are Ms. Pac-Man and Pac-Land. My fav ones are Pac-Mania and Pac-Land btw.) Pretty good idea. score: 9/102nd, Quarth on GBKonami is the master company of the game which is famous for damn awesome music, very smooth and exciting gameplay and innovative ideas and backstories. Quarth is a composition of SHMUP and puzzle games. I'm really into this cuz I'm a huge fan of SHMUP, and I love to play some puzzle games related to bricks. What you shoud do in this game is to shoot the block one by one to make the big block into a rectangule or square then the big block could be eliminated. Sounds simple huh, but very challengeable. You only use four buttons actually, D-pad left and right to move the shooting spaceship, D-pad up for boosting the falling speed, A button to shoot the block. A pity is that there's no boss fight... but that's not a big deal. I often played the co-op mode of the same game of FC version with my mother when I was a kid, that's nostalgic. score:10/10 this is an irreplaceable memory of me.3rd, Tetris DX on GBCMaybe my best favorite game on GBC, and we seem have no reason to argue with that. Tetris on the original GB released at that time, made a release record in the history, Tetris DX is the upgraded version of it. Besides the original mode, there's also a puzzle mode which needs you to eliminate all the bricks to solve the problem. There's also a time limit, if you delete the line too slow, it'll add the height randomly, this feature makes the game pretty interesting. Everybody knows how to play Tetris, but what about now? The graphic is really really colorful and memorable. And the music is great too. When you finish one game, there're some nice motioning pictures showed for you, including beautiful fireworks and launching the space shuttle. These things are very simple, but it works very well. In a word, this is the greatest puzzle game of all time. score:∞/10 [flash=300,200]http://www.xiami.com/widget/44072000_1773284463,_235_346_FF8719_494949_1/multiPlayer.swf[/flash] So, what are your favorite GB/GBC games? Please let me know, any comments are welcomed. to be continued...查看回复
[i=s] 本帖最后由 ararat-tempest 于 2015-10-29 20:38 编辑 My name's retro-A, and I do the retro reviews~!1982年,又是一次革命,这次是掌机界的。GCE公司原本是制造电脑显示器的,看见很多原本和电玩无关的公司开始如潮水般的涌入电子游戏界,谁看了谁都眼红,毕竟这是大势所趋(电玩产业崩溃也是大势所趋2333)。于是为了掺一脚,也同时为了处理卖不掉的显示器,于是...GCE的Vectrex诞生了!信不信由你,这算是掌机!至少家用机的话需要你插电视,现在你连电视都省了2333“这是个好创意!”很多公司也开始模仿类似技术,于是一些tabletop mini-arcade机诞生了,但是这类产品有个通病,也是GCE Vectrex没有的毛病——不能更换游戏,一个机器只对应一个游戏!这不仅仅是浪费材料,也是浪费玩家的金钱。但是,有这么一家公司的产品是和Vectrex的步伐一致的,那就是Entex的AdventureVision。虽说点子是从人家那里得来的,但是Entex也有自己的特色——有了不同的颜色。GCE的Vectrex是黑色和蓝色的,而AdventureVision是黑色和红色。wait, black and red?这不是老任的黑历史之一——Virtual Boy么!You've got the point,这种“黑红技术”(容易瞎想的词2333)就是老任从这个名气不大的公司获得的想法,虽然想隐藏历史说是原创,但是史学家是放不过任何一个线索的。就好比一个流行歌手做了个抄袭n年前的地下歌手曲子riff的曲子最后又过了n年还是让发烧友发现了一样...这不是Entex第一次进军掌机市场。1981年他们发行的Select-A-Game就有可更换rom卡带的功能,这个技术帮了他们很大忙,也是他们优越于那些作tabletop mini-arcade的公司的一点。这点就很致命了,因为涉及到很多和金钱相关的问题。外盒上还特意标出“No TV Required!”这是个卖点,但不是最大的,因为同期的很多生产商的产品都有这个功能...他们应该写“With Changeable Cartridge”。虽然右面写了这是个table-top cartridge system,我还是觉得应该放在醒目的位置,毕竟看见这么一个东西谁都能想到这是不用连电视的,囧。外盒后面有产品说明、用法和简介,你确定不用把这些写进用户手册??????相反的,如果你弄丢了盒子而不知如何操作,你就呵呵呵了。来个插入卡带了的机器的特写~对,屏幕前方那个小黑块就是卡带。这个平台都有神马游戏呢?额,一只手就能数过来的,一共就4个游戏...嫌少?怪我咯。其中的三个卡带的特写。Super Cobra,我觉得我快要瞎了,这么吊炸天的东西...虽然不是Virtual Boy的那种头晕目眩,更不是Tiger的R-Zone那种一击必杀直接刺穿钛合金狗眼的程度,玩个20分钟也足矣瞎一阵子了...你问我R-Zone是啥?嘛,反正肯定不是看过AVGN的人问的。嗯,这就是R-Zone,同样是掌机,但是你握在手里的只有手柄...回到正题,Super Cobra是Konami的同名街机游戏的移植,显然这个移植的水平不够好= =想玩个“正常”版本的话,建议你买Atari 2600的卡带...Space Force,这是Asteroids的克隆版,没啥好说的,操作都一样,左右旋转,下键亚空间移动,开火键开火,躲避并射击陨石,射击飞碟,赚分,仅此而已。我还是喜欢PS2版的,那个才是狂拽酷炫。Turtles,Pac-Man的变相克隆。没玩过Pac-Man的要么随意找个模拟器下rom撸一把,要不就去看《像素大战》吧。Pac-Man变成了乌龟,小鬼变成了臭虫...一点都不酷最后,压轴的是Defender,同名的街机移植。也是我最喜欢的类型。其他参数:分辨率:150x40CPU:英特尔8048 733kHz声卡:NS COP411L 52.6kHzRAM:64 byte (内部8048) 1kb on PCBROM:1kb配件:AC adapter,保修卡总销量(小差值估算):50757台个人评分:外观:9/10,拉风!耐用度:5/10,相对来说不禁玩...硬件:8/10,与同世代机器相比算是不错的,虽然没有Vectrex好。画面:6/10,一般,但是优点是不是黑白的(这算是优点么?)声音:5/10,用AVGN的James的话说,“这是屁声连奏”23333稀有度:9/10,至少在eBay上七八年没见到了,只有在跳蚤市场或者二手电玩店才能偶尔碰到。如果你是个电器或者电玩收藏者,哪怕是有缺陷的机器你也应该毫不犹豫的掏钱,因为这东西现在基本上只能在电玩博物馆里才能看到了...但是,再怎么稀有也没有那些原型机稀有,所以扣1分。总分:7/10to be continued...查看回复
